Chloe wanted Tacker to be her friend. Even though she poked him, pulled his buttons and shoes, and grabbed at him, he was much more interested in posing for pictures. Wow-she is a pushy little girl! Chloe spent last weekend in Marion where she attended a wedding shower for Ellen and sent her cousin Peyton off to the prom.

Swinging

Chloe likes the swing at therapy so much, her dad hung one up in the back yard for her. She's a happy and busy girl, but is stubborn when it comes to eating. This week she will eat a little cheese and nothing else. She is refusing her sippy cup, but at least will take her bottle. Mom reports that she clamps her jaws shut and tries to knock the spoon out of her hand. She's still on meds for ear infections so maybe next week will be better. She's going to visit Aunt Jenny and family this weekend and will also make an appearance at a wedding shower for Ellen.

Leaning on Dad

This is a rare shot of Chloe putting some weight on her legs. She has worked hard in therapy to get this far. When she was younger and fussed at therapy, they would let her go home early. Now that she is smart enough to cry every time she doesn't like it, they make her push through. Therapy is not so much fun these days for Chloe or for her mom!

Happy Easter

Chloe went out to eat with family members to celebrate her uncle's birthday. Somehow she ended up with a menu and proceeded to give an order.

Watching cartoons

Chloe was seriously watching cartoons, but gave her mom this happy pose when she saw the camera.

Yesterday she had a check-up at ACH and received a good report. She weighed in at 18.3 lbs and her chin has grown just as the doctor had hoped. She is now scheduled for her surgery on July 9th. It will take about 2.5 hours and she'll spend one night in the hospital. To keep her from putting anything in her mouth, she'll wear "no nos" or splints on her arms at all times for a minimum of three weeks. She'll only be able to eat what she can drink from a sippy cup. During surgery she will also get tubes in her ears. So she has three months to learn to eat foods and get off formula and the bottle. After recovering, she can look forward to less ear infections and less fluid as well as a perfectly normal mouth and airway.

More progress-she will now put weight on her legs when you support her! Thanks to the physical therapist's and her mom's dedication.

She was happy to be home after the trip to the doctor and my house. She played by herself on the floor and when her mom put her in her crib for a nap, she snuggled up to her blanket and giggled!
