Chloe spent the weekend with us and it was a Big-Stepping Time. After finding Elmo flipflops in the toy box and putting them on her feet, she told me she wanted to "big step."  (Big Stepping is walking holding someone's hands.) She just took off and we walked outside to show Grandad the big steps. At one point Vern (my dog) walked in front of her and she said,"hi vernie - I'm walking!" It was the first time I'd seen her ask to big step and show pride in walking. We stayed outside walking non-stop for over an hour!

One of the nice things about the weekend was we didn't have an agenda and just stayed home and did whatever Chloe wanted. She bossed me around all weekend-"Grandbec sit down" "Grandbec stand up" "Grandbec big step" "Grandbec up" "Grandbec DO it" and I had a blast discovering what she wanted.

Oh I haven't posted in awhile!  I spent a few days with Chloe while I worked in her area.  She is so much fun and seems to be a typical two-year old at times.  She is smart enough to understand what is going on, but doesn't have any logic.  We told her that Grandad was going to meet us at her house and she continually asked for him until we go there.  It was as if she could convince us to change the answer by just repeating the question!  She's had trouble sleeping and asks for any and everything to avoid going to bed (or back to bed in the middle of the night.)  She is quick to throw a fit but is just discovering what the boundaries are.  She speaks in sentences-this morning on the phone she told me she at been "in a boat on the water" yesterday.  She showed me how she splashed and said she was with Jeremy and Melissa.  It struck me as the first time she has told me enough to actually communicate information without her mother helping.

Rodeo Fun

Chloe had a big time at the Rodeo.  She was so excited about seeing Horses that she didn't want to wait until showtime to go.  Mom and Dad told her the horses had gone night night and they couldn't go see them until they woke up.  She called and told me, 'horses night-night.'

 As you can see Chloe is putting on a little weight and doing well.  She's very busy these days!  She pulls herself up on two feet and takes steps with someone holding her hands (when she wants to).  She talks all the time and is creating simple sentences such as 'Baby crying.'  She pretends to read aloud her books and can sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by herself.
