Even though it is COLD, she wanted more!

Christmas Day

Chloe was up at 6:30 AM and we kept her upstairs until we were all awake and ready to go down to see what Santa had left for her.  Chloe was sitting on the top step of the stairs with Grandad and she could see a Foofa doll that Santa had left.  She screamed, "Foofa doll Foofa Doll" and could hardly wait any longer to go downstairs.

She grabbed the foofa doll and then the flashlight and was quite pleased that Santa had done as she asked.  He also left her a battery operated four wheeler in which she showed little interest.  Her stocking was full of surprises...princess nail polish and lipstick, a spinning light, puppy dog and crayons for the bathtub. 

She would run around the staircase so that we couldn't see her, figure out her new toys and then come back and show us.  She can be very bashful.  (In the Foofa and Flashlight video she does it right after she finds her Santa gifts.) She played for awhile with the Santa toys and then she opened presents.  She did little more than pull off a few bows, insisting that any of us do the unwrapping for her.  

Her Moma got her to pull a little of the paper, but basically she refused to unwrap.   She liked the dishes, pots and pans, and play food that went with her new the oven/sink set.  We had many tea parties today!  She wore the watch that her mother gave her all day and if you asked her what time it was, she replied "eight o'clock," 

After lunch Chloe went to her Dad's family Christmas gathering.  She was excited to recieve many more gifts including a pink rocking chair, baby doll, and sleds.  She loved seeing her cousins but as the youngest she was a little shy. 

Chloe certainly had a fun Christmas Day!  Once she understood about the gift-giving, she didn't want it to end.  She does understand what Santa Claus is all about now, but I believe she thinks he brought her all the gifts.  She couldn't quite understand how people who weren't in the room could be giving her a gift!

Chloe Meets Baby Stecks

Chloe visited with Ramy and Stecks a couple weeks ago and is excited to have another boyfriend in her life!

Chloe went to see Santa Claus

Chloe went to see Santa Claus at the Mall and patiently waited in line.  She seemed to understand what was suppose to happen and has rehearsed for weeks that she was to tell Santa what she wanted.  Her wishes haven't changed -she wants a flashlight and a Foofa doll.  She had her turn with Santa and told him what she wanted, but the picture clearly shows how upset she was when he didn't give her the flashlight and Foofa doll on the spot.  Poor thing- she just didn't understand.  As she cried, she kept repeating, I want a flashlight and a Foofa Doll...  Fortunately, there were Christmas lights in Bentonville to take her mind off disappointing ole Santa.

Weekend at Granbec's

Chloe spent the weekend with us and boy did we have fun!  We spent hours with the Little People and had a fun time hiking and mountain climbing in the yard.  Chloe decorated two trays of Christmas cookies and ate lots of sprinkles in the process.  She didn't like it when I tried to eat a cookie and told me, "no, Chloe's cookies!"  I finally convinced her that she should share a cookie with me so she selected one for me.  She picked out a small one that she had already taken off all the candy and sprinkles.  Check out the pictures!

Chloe Does Dallas

Chloe had a big weekend in Dallas that included her first live concert.  Chloe, Jack, and families attended a Yo Gabba Gabba concert!  Yo Gabba Gabba is one of her favorite TV shows and she loved the concert.  She watched every minute, clapped when each song ended, and cried when they started singing the Good Bye song!

Before the concert, she attended the Dallas Christmas parade and was quite excited to see her favorite characters as large balloons or on floats.  They visited the mall and had a fun time running wild in the hotel.  Chloe's trip ended with a breakfast of Christmas Sprinkled pancakes!

Chloe's great grandmother Pate Hart went to heaven on November 16th.  This picture shows her in the hospital getting her first rock with Chloe.  'Mur' instilled values of family, grace, and faith in all of us that will forever influence Chloe.  She will be missed greatly, but we will  enjoy watching Chloe grow up in specially designed  dresses  created just for her by Mur.

Chloe and Jack had a fun time together on Halloween.  They dressed up and went trick or treating, but their most fun was answering the door at Jack's house.  Chloe's idea of trick or treating was sitting in the wagon and having someone bring the candy to her!

Videos

I've added a collection of videos of Chloe.  The singing ones are dark, but one night before bedtime she decided to sing even though the camera was on.  The videos with the Retta and Pearl show the patience and devotion they give her daily. The slide videos were an attempt to show her sliding down the slide, but she would not do it while the camera was on.  As soon as I would turn it off, down she would go! The screaming video is just an odd moment when I caught her vocalizing!

Nat and Bob Visit

Four Generations

Chloe's great grandparents flew in from Florida just to see her!  Chloe had a blast at the airport playing in her castle while waiting for their arrival.  While they were in town, we suffered through another Razorback loss to Bama (Nat and Bob's alma mater), visited the Bentonville farmers' market, Sam Walton's museum, Drake Fields Military Air Museum and to the U of A campus to check on graduate sidewalk names.  It was a fun weekend with lots of time for Chloe to show off.  She treated them as she does most of her fan club with bashfulness and suspicion.  The good news is she is now talking about them and readily identifies them in her picture book.  They gave her a few books, one of which is now her very favorite and we are all sick of reading it!

Chloe was running around her house being wild.  She had a shirt on her head and proclaimed to me on the phone, "I've got my blanky, Granbec!"  She also told me, "Jack came over, Granbec!"  "I painted a picture, Granbec!"

While Jack was at her house, they "hid" themselves in the bathroom and were thrilled to be discovered!   She went to a family birthday party where pizza and a cupcake were the highlights and told me all about JayJay being there.  She continuously plays with Pearl.  Tonight on the phone, I saw Pearl eating her supper wearing a necklace that Chloe had placed on her.  Retta seems to run and hide and doesn't get as much attention from Chloe as Pearl does.

She runs without caution now and is constantly moving.  She really is a little girl and is quickly losing her baby ways!

First Haircut

Chloe had her hair cut for the first time today.  She did not want to cooperate, but the setting was fun and it appears that hugging her fancy frog gave her some comfort!  She just got a trim so she still has her pony tail.      She also wore her monkey backpack leash for the first time.  Even though she screamed and cried when she tried it on at home, she wore it to the Farmers Market in Fayetteville.  She realized it wasn't so bad and continues to enjoy the freedom of walking on her own.  The leash was purchased after Chloe ran away from her moma into a parking lot without any fear.   When Chloe was first asked about wearing the monkey today, she told her moma that she would 'just ride in a stroller.'
